A long drive, but well worth it!

Welcome to the first in a series of several blog posts (probably between 6 and 8!) on our trip to Oregon. I know, I know, that’s a bit excessive. But I’ve narrowed it down as much as I can, and there were just too many fun things and great photos to pare it down any more! So without further ado…we spent August 1-8 at wonderful beach house in Warrenton, OR (just between Seaside and Astoria) with Ryan’s parents, brothers (Jeremy and Andrew), sisters-in-law (Elizabeth and Jill), and our nephew, Lucas…10 of us total. It was a wonderful week! Though the drive down was only about 3 and a half hours, that’s a long time for Eli and Zoe to sit still! Eli settled in to watch Bob the Builder with his blankie and Puppy, while Zoe showed us her seldom-seen aggressive side… Okay, so in reality she was yawning, but doesn’t she look vicious?! I find this photo hilarious considering Zoe’s extraordinarily submissive and friendly personality.
We arrived at the beach house late afternoon and were so excited about the awesome digs Ryan’s parents found! This elaborate lounge chair was the first thing I saw when I walked in, and I spent most of Eli’s nap times curled up in it with a book. I thoroughly enjoyed this great chair and its great view! The guys, however, were far more excited about the foosball table than the comfy chair. Eli wanted desperately to join in the fun, so Ryan pulled up a chair and let him play goalie. :) The foosball table was a source of much enjoyment during the week, much to Andrew and Jill’s chagrin since the table was right outside their bedroom! The finale of the day was first of several great sunsets we enjoyed during our trip. Though this one wasn’t particularly colorful, it was such a great image of God’s glory shining down on us.
